About Spring Midwives

Our Mission

Spring Midwives is a registered non-profit

managed by a board of birth profesionals.

Our goal is to open an independent, collaborative,

and holistic midwifery practice.

our story

Spring Midwives was founded in 2025 by Midwife Jasmine Graham because she recognized the need for

a more autonomous and independent model like Midwives in BC or Ontario.

We are aiming to open a multi-disciplinary

perinatal clinic under the province's

new collaborative care model.

JASMINE GRAHAM RM BA BHSc

I was born in here in Fredericton and raised in small-town Ontario and NB. My exposure to midwifery began when I witnessed my siblings' home births at age 3 and 7. I got a BA at St. FX before realizing Midwifery was my calling. I earned an Honours BHSc in Midwifery at Laurentian U and became a Registered Midwife in 2013.

I spent over seven years practicing in rural Ontario, attending over 400 births, before moving home to NB with my husband and children.

I registered in New Brunswick 2020 and follow the standards of care of the Midwifery Council of NB. I am currently working locums in Northern Quebec while I work to establish Spring Midwives.

I am currently pursuing my Masters of Science in Midwifery part time in hopes of being able to teach and train new midwives for NB one day.

I hope to soon be taking NB Families into care!

JEM DEGUIRE BHSc

I graduated from McMaster University in 2011 with a Bachelor of Health Sciences degree in Midwifery and since then have been gaining wisdom through experiences learning from babies, birthing people, their supports and my fellow colleagues. I have worked in Southern Ontario, Nunavik, and New Brunswick.

In 2017 I moved onto Wolastoq land in New Brunswick to pivot my lifestyle toward off grid homesteading, self sufficiency in a small community and birth work. Since then I have had 2 little girls and.

I have a strong commitment to holding space for folx to navigate and experience their unique journey into parenthood. I equally value supporting my colleagues in their irreplaceable and important work as midwives.

I am working toward trauma informed, anti-racist and safer care.

I recently completed a contract in Ontario and am happy to be back in NB spending time with my family.

I am also pursuing a Masters Degree in Counseling.
